The main aim of this appendix is to generalize the neoclassical theory introduced in Chapter 2 in order to take into
account the presence of impurity ions in the plasma. We shall make no assumptions about the
geometry of the equilibrium magnetic flux-surfaces in this study. Neither shall we assume that the plasma lies
in the banana collisionality regime.
